How to Incorporate the Fall Runway Trends Into Your Pageant Wardrobe

I love fashion.

From walking the runway in Tokyo, to posing for ads in Paris, to booking models for a magazine in New York, I love fashion and especially, the creative process.

Each season, I scroll through the pages of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Allure and New York magazine to see what will trickle down to mainstream malls.

I may have a bit of a love affair with the current trends. Many were trending back in ‘80s when I was in New York City.

If you love some of the Fall 2016 trends, but don’t know how to can incorporate them into your pageant wardrobe, let me help.

Capeletes

Wear it very much the same way you would a full cape on your gown.

Statement Furs
Don’t shoot! I’m not talking real furs. {Although they were seen on many of the catwalks}

Make it a fierce faux fur! Add a fur capelet on your fun fashion.

Or, what about adding a fur collar to a somewhat-plunging interview dress? Or fur cuffs around a long sleeve…even on a gown? Too out of the box? I think it could be stunning!

Bell Sleeves

This was one of my favorite trends back-in-the-day. Yup, I just went there.

I would love to see it everywhere in pageant land – gowns, interview dresses, cocktails. I think it may be the easiest to transition in.

Tinsel
Do you even remember tinsel on a Christmas tree? Boy, I do!
But I’m talking TINSEL on your clothing. I love it! But a little goes a long way.
